Retune DRX-500 to C-13 after use (Posted:Tue Jun 5,2007)

as everybody is using the 500 right now, please remember that most of the usual 300 users do not know how to retune the probe. I therefore request that everybody doing experiments involving nuclei other than proton or C-13 please retune the probe back to C-13 when done. If you are not around at the end of your experiment please arrange for somebody to be there to tune back to C-13 (I am happy to do it during normal weekday hours). Thanks for your cooperation

DPX300 down (Posted:Thu May 31,2007)

The DPX-300 magnet just quenched during a He-fill. As we had problems with the magnet before and there had been increased boiloff during the last few weeks, Bruker recommends a warmup and repump of the magnet.
That means the instrument will be down for a while. Users will have to use the DRX-500 until the DPX-300 is back up. I will be putting in the BBI probe tomorrow and create a temporary user account "nmr" on that instrument to be used by anybody without a personal account on that instrument.
Anybody who needs long term experiments on the 500 please contact me, otherwise the 300 signup rules will apply
