Cookouts
Cookouts usually take place every Saturday afternoon after the new member orientation and are a good opportunity for new and current members
to meet before or after a sail.
General Membership & Board meetings
The Executive Board meets at least once a month. The dates and times are selected by the Board and posted at the web page.
All members are welcome to attend. as guests
General Membership meetings are typically held twice a year in the Union or at our dock location.
Boat maintenance
Boat maintenance takes place during the spring at the Great Lakes WATER institute and continues during the summer at that location and at our
dock.
Whether it is painting boats, fixing floor boards or raising masts, it is a good way of learning about the details of a sailboat and keeping
in touch with other club members during and out of season.

Inland lake sailing
While our main activities take place on Lake Michigan the club owns a few centerboard boats which can be taken to inland lakes on occation.
Racing
Some of our members use the club's Solings to participate in races.
Racing is a great chance to show off what you have learned. Contact the Commodore at abenko@uwm.edu
if you are interested.
On demand the Club offers an intra-club Yngling racing program directed at new
members. No racing experience is required to participate. Members can begin to crew immediately; all that is required is that you have had some lessons to become familiar with the Ynglings.
Any Skipper can command a boat and crew. New Skippers are strongly encouraged to participate. The program is intended for teaching and practice. All skippers are looking for crew members and are glad
to teach during the course of the race.
